Fun for the family at Leigh’s Turnpike Centre

LEIGH’S Turnpike Centre is always an animated place!

And now young film fans are being given the chance to watch some of the best as part of the Manchester-wide Family Friendly Film Festival.
First Flicks is a one hour programme of short films and animation including Rindin the Puffer Fish, Pingu Makes a Splash and Good Night Gorilla.

The special one off event is suitable for under fives and their carers and takes place on Friday 15 August at 1.30pm. The event is free and tickets must be collected from Leigh Library.

It’s the first time the Turnpike Centre has hosted a day as part of the Family Friendly Film Festival which aims to bring families together to visit the arts across Greater Manchester during the summer holidays - whatever the weather!

Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust’s Gallery Co-ordinator, Louise Clennell said: “It's great to be involved with the festival and Arts About Manchester - we’re really looking forward to it. “In addition to the films we hope that families with young children will also find out about all the other activities taking place at the centre this summer, including the popular interactive Art Factory in the main gallery".

Following the film there will be refreshments and craft activities.

Free tickets are available from Leigh Library counter or by calling 01942 404 404.
