Put A Spring In Your Step


IMPROVE your general health and wellbeing by joining a health walk this March.

Led by Wigan Leisure Culture Trust Active Living staff, volunteers, park rangers, Lancashire Wildlife Trust and the Forestry Commission, the walks are ideal for people who want to improve their general health and wellbeing and are great for people of all ages to take up walking in a safe and sociable atmosphere.

Please note, not all walks are fully accessible to users of wheelchairs and other mobility aids.

Leigh, Pennington Flash on Saturday March 13. Nordic Walking. Meet at 10am by Rangers Cabin, main car park, St Helens Road.

Leigh, Pennington Flash on Monday March 15. Meet at 11am by Rangers Hut, main car park , St Helens Road, Leigh.

Ashfield Park, Standish on Tuesday March 16. Meet at 11am, main car park, Wigan Road.

Haigh Hall, Wigan on Wednesday March 17. Meet at 9.30am, Plantation Gates opposite Wigan Infirmary, Wigan Lane.

Shakerley, Wednesday March 17. Meet at 11am, the Home Ground, Lancaster Avenue.

Hindley Nature Walk, Borsdane Woods on Thursday March 18. Meet at 11am, tunnel entrance, Danes Avenue.

Astley, Colliers Wood on Friday March 19. Meet at 11am, main car park (of the Miners Welfare Club), Ley Road off Princess Avenue.

Standish, Nordic Walking on Saturday March 20. Meet at 10am, Worthington Lakes main car park, off Chorley Road. Booking Essential.

Pennington Flash, Leigh on Monday March 22. Meet at 11am by Rangers Hut, main car park, St Helens Road.

Poolstock and Flashes on Tuesday March 23. Meet at 11am at the Shanghai Palace car park, Poolstock Lane

Haigh Hall, Wigan on Wednesday March 24. Meet at 9.30am, Plantation Gates opposite Wigan Infirmary, Wigan Lane.

Hindley, Amberswood on Wednesday March 24. Meet at 11am, La Cava restaurant, Wigan Road.

Newtown, Parsons Walk on Thursday March 25. Meet at 11am, side of Halfords car park, Saddle Junction.

Standish on Friday March 26. Meet at 11am, Standish Cricket Club, Green Lane.

Astley, Nordic Walking on Saturday March 27. Meet at 10am, Miners Welfare Club, Meanley Road. Booking Essential.
