Equality & Diversity Policy Statement
Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust is
committed to equality and diversity and in an ongoing process continues
to develop and improve services to everyone in the community.
A management framework supports this commitment ensuring that equality
and diversity is mainstreamed throughout the organisation strategies,
policies and action plans. A well established Trust Diversity Group
provides creativity and momentum in steering the agenda forward ensuring
consistency across the wide ranging services within the Trust.
In September 2005 Level 1 of the Equality Standard of Local Government
was achieved, Level 2 was achieved in 2006 and there is a commitment to
achieve Level 3 by September 2008.
Equality and diversity is strongly reflected in both employment and
service delivery and this is demonstrated in all service plans. We have
a breakdown of our workforce profile detailing age, gender, disability
and ethnicity and work continues on profiling users of our services.
