School Club Link
What is the ‘High Quality School Club
Link’ Programme?
The programme is designed to provide parents and children with a minimum
quality standard for school to club links.
Linking clubs to schools is one of many ways of encouraging children to
take part in sport outside of school hours, to get them into the habit
of being active for life.
The standard asks clubs and school to work together to come to an
agreement for them to be linked to each other, while at the same time
asking them to agree to a pre-defined set of minimum standards. This
makes it easier for everyone to understand what they should be expected.
What are the benefits for your club?
Once you have been awarded the standard, you will get the following
benefits:
• A certificate signed by the Chief Executive of the programme
• Inclusion in the database on
www.schoolclublinks.com
• A reminder letter to let you know when your link is up for renewal
• Opportunity to feature on the news section of
www.schoolclublinks.com
• Use of the ‘High Quality School Club Links’ logo during your agreement
• An equal balance of school input and club input is advocated
How can your club get the ‘High Quality School Club Link’ mark?
You should contact Lizzie Hendley, Club Sports Development Manager on
01942 404 995 or at
l.hendley@wlct.org to arrange a meeting.
Do you have Clubmark?
In order to achieve the standard, your club should have Clubmark, or be
working towards completing it in the next 12 months. Clubmark is a
cross-sport quality accreditation for clubs with junior sections. To
achieve the accreditation, clubs need to have certain minimum operating
criteria in place (N.B. the FA run the Charter Standard Scheme, which
for the purpose of this programme is accepted an accreditation
standard).
For more information on the above accreditation schemes and/or how your
club can register to work towards achieving them please go to the
relevant website
www.clubmark.org.uk or
www.thefa.com/GrassrootsNew/CharterStandard/Club.
For more information on High Quality School to Club Link Programme and
gaining Clubmark please contact Lizzie Hendley, Club Sports Development
Manager on 01942 404 995.
