Get Active, Get Coaching

Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust are committed to developing suitable qualified and experienced sports coaches to lead and inspire the wealth of talented sports performers the Wigan borough houses.

WLCT offers a vast and varied Coach Education programme which provides opportunities for new and experienced sports coaches to learn new skills and gain new nationally recognised qualifications. A full list of the coach education courses can be found on the Wigan Borough Sports Council website www.wbsc.org.uk

To support current and aspiring sports coaches to achieve their aspirations, WLCT and the Wigan Borough Sports Council (WBSC) have launched the Coach Development Project. Up to £250 of financial support can be awarded to individuals to access nationally recognised coach education opportunities. Full details of the application process can be found at www.wbsc.org.uk

WLCT are also working alongside Sport England to support the Coaching Northwest pilot project. The Coaching Northwest Service is dedicated to helping sports coaches to find quality coaching and training opportunities, assisting organisations to find the services of suitably qualified sports coaches and supporting organisations with the management and development of their existing coaching workforce. Full details of the project can be found at www.coachingnw.org
