Olympic Opportunities

Wigan Sports Development is getting set for 2012 and will be offering a range of Olympiad opportunities for young people to get active.

A range of community based competitions will run throughout the Cultural Olympiad offering young people from a variety of backgrounds the opportunity to compete against their peers from other areas of the borough. The most prominent of these is the Game On Midnight Football Leagues for young people aged 12-16.

In partnership with the School Sports Partnership, Wigan Sports Development Unit will continue to host the East and West Primary Schools Festivals aiming to strengthen school to club links and provide a sporting celebration as a culmination of year round mini-festivals hosted by school sports coordinators for all 115 primary schools.
