IMPORTANT NOTICE:
We are pleased to announce that Wigan Council and Ashton, Leigh and
Wigan NHS have agreed to continue the Universal Free Swimming scheme
until 30 September 2010.
Wigan Council and Ashton, Leigh and Wigan NHS are considering a number
of options regarding the future of the scheme. We will provide you with
further update as soon as possible.
Please note - customers applying for an upgraded Lifestyle membership
will only have a guarantee of Free Swimming until 30 September 2010.

Swimming for EVERYONE
Aqualife covers a whole range of aquatic
disciplines to accommodate a variety of swimmers from the hesitant
beginner to the accomplished competitor, from babies to adults. Swim Fit
and Aqua Aerobics aim to improve your level of fitness, and parent and
toddler activities to introduce little ones to the water in a safe and
controlled environment. Everyone can now swim for
free! Have fun, keep healthy and meet new people! There are various
sessions that are included in the offer from casual swimming. Ladies
only, Swimfit, Swim tots, disability swimming, aqua natal and much more.
The Free Swimming offer is available to all age groups at all the
swimming pools managed by Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust. To benefit
from free swimming you will need to be a member of the Lifestyle Scheme.
Please note that access to Free Swimming by anyone under 17 years old
during term time is restricted, further information or to apply for a
Lifestyle card please contact your nearest Active Life Centre or visit

 Adult Lessons
All Aqualife pools offer instruction for adults, from non-swimmers to
more able. From these lessons adults are able to progress into other
aquatic disciplines.
Aqua Aerobics
Fun water-based exercise for adults. Provided in an appealing
environment aqua aerobics provides an opportunity to exercise at your
own pace in a musically led class. Classes must be booked in advance.
Children’s lessons
All Aqualife pools offer an extensive range of children’s lessons. They
start with an introduction to the basics and go through to competition
techniques. Lessons run in 10 week blocks throughout the year.
Children’s Activities
During the school holidays Tyldesley is the ideal place to let the
children express themselves in a safe environment: including wet & wild
sessions, crash courses and snorkelling sessions.
Children’s parties
Aqualife pools provide an ideal location for a birthday party. Take the
hassle out of organising a party and give your child a celebration with
a difference. Includes choice of slides, floats, diving boards and new
water walkerz!
Fun ‘n’ Floats
These highly popular sessions allow youngsters to burn off some energy
in a fun filled and controlled environment.
Swim Fit
Swim Fit provides a dedicated lane swimming session for adults of all
abilities. These sessions are very sociable and an enjoyable way to keep
fit.
Aqua natal classes
These classes, organised by a midwife team, are designed to provide
gentle relaxing exercise to music.
Ladies Only
As the name suggests, these sessions are dedicated to ladies and are
proving to be a very popular session with all ages.
Swim Tots
Tyldesley is the ideal place to introduce your children to water in a
safe environment: includes music and toys in a safe and controlled
environment.
Early bird
This session is for all early risers who want to start the day with some
exercise.
Club Bookings
Tyldesley is an ideal place for swimming clubs to hold training sessions
and competitions.
