Welcome to the home page for Wigan’s very
own Explore Book Award!
The Award is now in its third year, and there is a brand new shortlist
now for the 2010 Explore Book Award.
2009 Winner

The winner of the 2009 Explore Book Award
was F.E. Higgins with The Bone Magician. The book was a popular winner,
polling over a third of all votes. We had the opportunity to interview
FE Higgins following her win.

of ghosts and strange happenings rip through the small

How were the books for the shortlists selected?
We contacted all the publishers we could think of and asked for
submissions. Boxes of books arrived at Libraries HQ and these books were
sent out and read and reviewed by children around the borough. From the
reviews that came in we drew up two shortlists.
How do I vote?
Voting slips will be at your local library or you can download a
copy below.
