Our leisure time is a very important and fulfilling aspect of all our lives, and an area which can sometimes be consumed or overlooked because of the stresses and strains of our working lives. Leisure activities can help to alleviate these everyday anxieties and are proven to contribute to a healthier and happier lifestyle - and there is so much to see and do in the Borough of Wigan and surrounding area!

Whether it be a visit to one of our leisure and sports centres, or a gentle stroll around some of our two thousand acres of green space and seventeen parks, to visiting some of our famous attractions like Wigan Pier, Haigh Hall and its plantations, or taking in a play or musical, or simply letting your hair down in one of our many pubs, clubs and nightspots - there really is something for everyone.

Don't miss out on the benefits leisure activities can give you!

You can find out about all kinds of current events and activities happening near you by checking out our What's On guide. The guide features extensive listings covering everything from arts classes to martial arts, from bird spotting to spotting a bargain at a flea market, to sitting comfortably to watch a play, a musical or special one-off shows around your area.

Parks & Countryside Events
With large areas of green spaces and some stunning scenery, the Borough of Wigan is perfect for taking country walks and rambles or for discovering beautiful woodland, lakes and canals.
