Image: Proms 07Fingers crossed for hot sunny days in August as festivals are reaching fever pitch with the flagship WOW festival on the 3rd August. If you haven’t managed to get to any of the festivals in July then this is one definitely not to be missed. National Play Day is one just for the kids on the 6th August. As the nights are drawing in why not pop along to one of the many Bat walks we have on offer or start preparing for Halloween in your local park with pumpkin carving. The Turnpike Gallery has lots on offer with a family workshops running throughout the summer holidays and one of Britain’s best artists, Howard Hodgkin, will be displaying his work from October. Heritage Services and Libraries have many indoor activities for those inevitable wet days for all age groups. Whatever you want to do we’re sure you will find something…

Remember booking is essential for many events so we would advise to always ring your chosen venue beforehand to avoid disappointment. WLCT takes no responsibility for the accuracy of the information contained within this guide.
