23/11/09 - The LINC Magazine - Winter 2009
The Winter 2009 edition of The LINC magazine will be dropping through
your door over the next few weeks. Since this is our last edition of the
year, we’ve made sure to cram it full of as much stuff as we possibly
can. For starters, we’ve got an exclusive interview with Wigan’s own
athletics champion, Jenny Meadows. Fresh from her bronze-medal success
at this year’s World Championships, the Wigan Harriers’ star talks to us
about life on the track and at home and how she’s preparing for the 2012
Olympic Games in London...

29/09/09 - Halloween on LINC Online
It’s Halloween this weekend, and when The
LINC team haven’t been running round the office dressed as zombies or
playing Pin the Tale on the Devilish Monster Thing, we’ve been busy
updating our website with tonnes of Halloween-related content. First
things first, whilst we do want you all to have a great time this
weekend, we’d certainly encourage you to take care, stay safe and
respect other people....

22/09/09 - C is for..
A look at recent news and opportunities for young people in Wigan
Borough organised in not-so-alphabetical order. C is for CBT
Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) is what you’ll need to take if you want
to ride a moped or a motorbike. If you’re not currently working or at
college/university and live in certain areas of Wigan,
you can now do
your CBT for free. Just see the news piece in our

The X-Zones project is set to return to Wigan Borough, bringing with it
tonnes of opportunities not only for us to make terrible puns with our

the X-Factor’) but for you to get out and enjoy a whole host of free
activities....

know you’d much rather be out in the sun than reading lengthy blog
posts), we’ve decided to do the same again this week, only with six
things. Here Goes..

Get in the X Zone
A while back, some of you had the chance
to tell Wigan’s bigwigs that you wanted more stuff to do at the weekend.
Now, we’re happy to report that not only did they listen, but the Big
Cheese of the Borough have actually done something about it. And when we
say something, more specifically we mean the X Zones...
