Wigan Pier Theatre Company

Wigan Pier Theatre Company (WPTC) is the resident professional theatre company for the Wigan Borough.

Wigan Pier Theatre CompanyWPTC offers a diverse and exciting range of theatre projects, drama performances and creative services for the local community.

Since they were established in 1986, Wigan Pier’s resident Theatre Company have performed a variety of plays and schoolroom scenes daily in the museum. Now in addition to this the company runs projects in schools, Youth and Community theatres and has started touring locally.

Martin trained originally as an actor at Manchester Metropolitan University and performed in theatre and on television for 7 years. He changed career in 2000 when he joined Wigan Council’s Marketing Department and gained his current post in December 2002. Martin is actively involved with Wigan Little Theatre, where he directs and acts.
